Thanks to @Lox we now know, that Microsoft owns the domain copilot .si

SI, clearly, stands for Super Intelligence in this case.

Do you own any .si domains?

I'll start with the one I have;

Roboter .si

How about you?

I don’t really like all these registrars going on .si TLDs
It’s like they are using the “trend” to get money from domainers and that’s it
I’m not sure it’s a good sign for .si future

This is exactly how the .ai started. Nothing to worry about, buckle up & get ready for the ride!

When large registrars like Godaddy and Dynadot add a TLD to their portfolio, it's only a good sign for the extension. They don't do this because a few crazy domainers are projecting something, but because internal analyses (making money?!) make a good forecast for the future of this TLD. That's my optimistic guess.

For smaller local registrars, the air may become thinner and that is a pity. Up-and-coming registrars of medium size have missed the boat for the time being.

Bringing .si domains to American registrars is a positive signal because they were never available outside EU. Which meant domainers, investors or end-users had to create new accounts on platforms they weren't familiar with. Most registrars in EU require KYC, verification and this adds another layer of inconvenience.

Benefits of American registrars are convenience, trust and a platform they are already accustomed to and or already using. Also means great access and availability therefore wider distribution/adoption.

GoDaddy and Dynadot are trusted platforms & well known household brands. Both having operational for over two decades. Let's not forget GoDaddy/Afternic distribution/sales network that covers over 60%-80% of the entire network.

Roy.si

Roy = King; Royal; A (Fore)Name
si = Super Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Social Impact, "Yes"
(ideal for an Ai-Assistant or leading Ai-Solutions, etc)

A youtuber, which I very much respect for his competence, confirms the Super Intelligence goldrush:

But how does that translate to .si domain sales? I dont see an increasing demand for them (enduser). Some hype, maybe.

It won't push the needle too much until the registry itself markets .SI as "Super Intelligence". Same was for .TV, .IO, and .AI. Until then it's pure speculation imho.

I fully agree.
But it's a fairly cheap lottery ticket that, in my opinion, is definitely worth a shot

Totally agree.

But - when do you register domains?

Before the trend emerges, or after it...? :)

No matter what, this is on the one hand speculative, still,
however, on the other quite logically explainable:

1) Microsoft regged copilot .si ;
there are some other brands that regged .si domains, as we mentioned earlier in this thread

2) Super Intelligence - what is the abbreviation for it?
> Same goes for Spatial Intelligence

3) Few acquisition happen, indie developers or start-ups explore the .SI tld and hopefully use it

4) Matter of time, when Super Intelligence becomes even more talk of town / mainstream than today

Just my opinion, but worth a shot ;)

And just btw, I need to mention that:

Open AI is at stage 3 of 5, when it comes to AGI.

2025 will be astonishing out of 2 reasons:

1) AI becomes product market fit.

So, if you haven't felt the impact of AI by now at your job, you will likely see it then.

2) Emergence and research of AGI. -

First time in human history, we will see a machine, that can do as much as a human can.

Awesome and scary.

Even more investment could happen, as owning AGI -- and even more than that ASI -- can become a crucial decision maker in industry, economy, aso.

Companies that passed AGI, will fully focus on ASI.

I am not surprised if the next big project will be build in space, to use solar energy for computation.

>> SpaceX & Elon Musk wouldn't surprise me with that one.

The keyword "Superintelligence" commands a Top-of-the-page (high-range) bid of $250.49 per click
@Google

For comparison;

- AI: Top bid: $2.94

- Artificial Intelligence: Top bid: $7.34

In comparison, Superintelligence stands out as a high-demand term, emphasizing its strategic importance in the AI landscape.

One more use case for .si domains. Mathematical Superintelligence aka MSI

Harmonic, an artificial intelligence platform leading the development of Mathematical Superintelligence (MSI), announced a $75 million Series A funding round at a $325 million post-money valuation led by Sequoia Capital, with significant participation by Index Ventures and additional backing from Jasper Lau’s Era Funds, GreatPoint Ventures, DST Global partners, Nikesh Arora, and Jared Leto.

MSI.si is owned by a Slovenian company since 2006.
Mathematical.si was available for handreg until today. A fellow Scandinavian member of this forum is the winner of the registration race. Congrats and good luck.
