Thanks to @Lox we now know, that Microsoft owns the domain copilot .si

SI, clearly, stands for Super Intelligence in this case.

Do you own any .si domains?

I'll start with the one I have;

Roboter .si

How about you?

I may not be asked,

but I think there is no bigger maximization / exaggeration of the term Artificial Intelligence
than Super Intelligence.

Nothing is bigger than Super;
so, if there is a successor of AI, it is clearly (and only) SI.
Exactly on point.

Couldn't say it better.

With all due respect, I think it is quite early to immediately label this TLD from Slovenia as intended for 'super intelligence'. Is there any basis for a larger trend in that direction, or are you creating it yourself?

I say this because new domainers in particular can make investment decisions based on this type of information.
Yes, let new domainers jump on the wagon & try something out, why not...

.io was the ccTLD for the British Indian Ocean Territory.

.ai was the ccTLD for Anguilla.

Now, both are used like gTLDs (.com) due to popular trends.

.si is Slovenia's ccTLD and has been around for 30 years. Over 155k .si domains are registered.

.si will be the next trend?
Why not?

Maybe, SI (super intelligence) is really the most likely successor to AI...

So, why shouldn't the corresponding TLD be as much attractive as the acronym.

superintelligence is a hypothetical agent that possesses intelligence far surpassing that of the brightest and most gifted human minds
....hypothetical aaaaaa.....i will bones until a agent become super intelligent
If you are not sure, how fast Super Intelligence might be able to come,

check this YouTuber out.

I am following him since some time, and what he says is quite based & weighed up.

Not really. Check AGI (general artificial intelligence) term.
General is a level underneath super.

General is human like intelligence; Super is above that (at least, in specific fields).

No problem to me ;) :)

No one should throw his money at any name;
but if you find a great gem, why not try it...

Perfect. That's the nuance I actually expected in your opening post. @equity78 described that nuance quite well in his article on The Domains.

If you can afford it, there's nothing wrong with taking a chance on a certain part of your portfolio every now and then, and I sincerely hope it turns out to be a success for you. I also hope that not too many people will lose money on this forum.

In domain investing, it's mainly the success stories that come to the fore, you rarely hear about the tons of money that are lost at the same time. This of course applies to all extensions, including .com and also to the .ai extension (despite some very impressive sales we've seen as well).

All the best, Andreas.

Thx, we are in a professional domaining forum,
and I never ment something different.

However, everyone is responsible for his own money management as well.

Its always easy to lose money, when you see domaining as gamble,
rather than statistics & metrics based investment.

However, a bit creativity & foresight is always part of it, just look at .ai
Not many invested before 2020; but those who did made the most of it.

Take care.

We can only guess at this point but here's my take. imo Asi / Si as keywords in .com names are more likely to trend rather than .si the extension (or any other extension ending in i).

People already default to .com in their mind and if you have an ai product/company and you build on the .si extension instead of .ai or .com, people will not only confuse it for the .com but also for the .ai now that it's become popular so you'll be leaking lots of traffic.

.si will most likely just be registered defensively like any other cctld. Only time will tell

Most definitely not.

dig deeper :) ... the number of registered Eng 1 word in .si zone (no sign of pump & roll)

register.si (registry)

prosta = not registered
je ze registrirana = registered
preveri = check (search )
preveri podatke o domeni + = whois (must check box I agree to " Strinjam se s pogoji uporabe")

I've read about "Synthetic Intelligence" which is a more advanced form of AI, and happens to share the same acronym as Super Intelligence of course.

I'm skeptical of .SI getting traction, but it's a low reg fee and easy pickings for good single words, so I did pick up a few to hold for a while in case there's adoption:

trusted.si
thinking.si
decisive.si

I sold one of the above in .com in the past so there's a bit of nostalgia involved.

What are we supposed to dig for? These are defensive registrations and gullible domainers. Thats it.

I wish there were threads dedicated to the hundreds of "next big things" that never came to pass even in just the last 7 or 8 years.

Understand your assessment, but here is the following:

Niche tlds / exotic tlds are first and foremost used (at the beginning) by niche start-ups, indie developers, small companies, that are specialized in that field.

That is the same way .ai started, just like .io, .so, .tech etc.

Those founders have (quite often) no problem with these tlds and using them.

So, if there could be Super Intelligence, I am not completely turned away from the fact that these start-ups etc. wouldn't use the acronym' corresponding cctld.

Super Intelligence, is right around the corner... :sneaky: ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yep,
and just btw:

.SI could also stand for something else:
Singularity.

Actually, SI can be short for many cases:

Super
Special
Singular
Synthetic

Intelligence.

However, I think Super fits of course the most,
as Super Intelligence is a scientific term in the field of science.
