SGI (Super General Intelligence) is a term worth watching. It would describe intelligence that can learn, reason and solve problems across a broad range of tasks, rather than being limited to one specific job. Think medicine, research, education, software development and translation. The “general” part matters because it describes the breadth of the intelligence, not just how powerful it is.
The White House has already directed federal agencies to use SI (Super Intelligence) instead of AI in official communications. That raises an obvious question: If AI becomes SI, why wouldn’t AGI become SGI? As a naming progression, it makes sense to me. The White House

From a domain perspective, that’s what interests me. SI could be the broad label, while SGI could become the more specific term for general-purpose intelligence. I’d rather watch that possibility now than only notice it once everyone is using it.
