Hi Guys,

I have two sites that were recently developed and hosted:

www.UKcamps.com

and

www.AdPrevention.com

They are my first ever developed sites and I don't know anything at all about SEO. It seems like a good amount of work and I wanted to know if it would be worth hiring someone to (using LEGIT SEO, of course) do it for me?

If no, what can I do with these sites to improve placement? UKcamps.com was just indexed with google and yahoo last week and AdPrevention.com was indexed with google a few days ago.

If yes, and any SEO specialists here have ideas/offers that you don't wish to discuss in public, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
OH

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If you have the time i would say do it yourself.
Have you made an inventory for the keywords you want to rank for?

That's where it all begins, make an inventory and i could ad my 2cents for you.
Shoot me a PM when done and I'll look into your sites to give you some advice where you could potentially improve things.

I'm not an expert but i could bring something of value to the table ;)

I didn't realize this got moved and apologies to Nick in the SEO forum. The thread was mostly a "should I?"/"shouldn't I?" type of question, but I can see the advertising issue with it.

Damion,

I have some time to do certain things, but I'd really like to know what I'm doing...and learning can be a slow process at times, so for me it may be worth it to hire someone good and learn from what they do.

Keywords:

www.UKcamps.com

Camp(s)
Park(s)
UK/United Kingdom
Holiday Park(s)
Summer Camp(s)
Camping
Caravan(s)
Caravan Park(s)

www.AdPrevention.com

Adware Removal
Spyware Removal
Ad Scans
Virus Scans
Computer Protection
Internet Security
Anti-Virus

Those are a few for each of the sites. I'm not sure which would be the easiest/best/most profitable to target.

Thanks,
OH

Those are some pretty hard keywords to get a good ranking. If you are willing to learn how, and have time, then you should do it.

But if your not interested in learning SEO and have a lot of spare time, hire someone.

If you can afford it, hire someone with proof they can get you ranked.
Have them give you examples of where they've placed other domains in search engines, especially Google.

seo isn't cheap, especially quality seo and these sites don't look too popular, so only if you think it's worth it..

If you going to hire someone , i recommend that you find a trusted one .. because there are alot of SEO experts/optimizers using BlackHat SEO methods .. which will block you on Google and most of search engines.. it's the opposite of WhiteHat SEO ( normal seo )

BMW itself got blocked by Google for BlackHat SEO

I do my websites SEO by myself and i update it every time i learn something new..

SEO optimization not that hard and you can learn it very easy .. just read about it..

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I fully intend to proceed in the right (non-black hat) direction with these sites. Going slowly and using mostly natural placement over time appears to be the best method.

UKcamps.com has potential to be a good generic and I plan on keeping it for as long as camping exists in the UK. :p

Does anyone have good tips on what to do for natural placement? I've read about anchor tags, reciprocal links, directory submission, content writers, and keyword placement...but don't know which ones are more "legit" than others or how I could go about using them the to their fullest.

Thanks again,
OH

I recommend you click around the forums and read some of the great, free SEO articles that can be found. If that doesn't quench your thirst, there are plenty of free SEO do-it-yourself articles on the internet.

So no, I would not recommend hiring someone to do it. Spend the few hours or less it takes to do it yourself and save a lot of cash! :)
