Sad day for Canada. I hope the Soldier has a full recovery. No reason for domestic terrorism to take place on any soil. (I honestly thought guns were illegal in Canada before this)

We can't carry them like they do in the US but after what happened yesterday with the other soldier
and a full caucus meeting today - security should have been high..

Well, I don't want to turn this into a political debate on what is right and what is wrong. I know where I stand on #2A and gun control. We just have a couple of people with some screws loose running around with them.

As I've said, God bless that Soldier and his friends and family during this time. God Speed to all you Canadian's as well. A good man once said, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself.

I haven't heard what/who he is/belongs to yet
All they have said is long hair and he was short - his faced was apparently covered with a bandana.
there was 3 people shot, including one suspect, they still have not confirmed if there are more
as there was multiple shootings.

Born in Quebec in 1982 a Canadian Citizen who apparently is a recent convert to Islam CNN reported.

A sad day for sure here in Ottawa. The soldier guarding the monument doesn't even have a loaded gun. The 'terrorist' was a complete coward and nutjob. And if they didn't cancel these events and there was a attack..these people and others might have been killed!
