I believe .xyz domains were never meant to be used a flipping extension.

Agreed - though you can argue that the return (ROI in terms of percentage) is nice.

ie - You buy the .xyz for $1. You sell for $10. That's 10x.

For example:

Sharon/org was regged in 1996. Say each year cost $10. The domain was reported sold 17 years later. 17 x $10 = $170 >> The sale at $550 would be close to 3X

The question - outside of ROI - becomes is it worth your time? ie $9 xyz profit vs $380 .org profit.

@jaxchains07 - Sharon is a popular first name as you know. Surely you can find somebody named Sharon willing to pay $10 for this domain if you don't plan on renewing, and want to come out ahead. I just hope you're not paying premium registry prices for this domain, as it would be much harder to recoup your investment.

Perhaps @bmugford will stop by and share his expert opinion. After all - he is the owner of the .org example used.

I have sold a bunch of one-word .xyz for $xxx - $xxxx (one just a few days ago). but I don't get as many requests as before.

Sharon is an ok name, but not a "killer". Personally, I would list it at Sedo or/and Afternic for about 200 dollars. But that is just me...
