I am considering developing FileShack.mobi into a website that mobile phones can access to download ringtones, pictures, games, etc. directly to there mobile device. They would also be able to upload pictures to the site from their mobile.

Is there any service/company that I could sign up for (as an affiliate I presume) to sell content in this manner?

Any ideas are appreciated.
If you think there are other ways I can do this, please say.

Thanks.

Most of the companies such as mediaplazza.com give you a 'white label' site with ringtones, wallpapers etc.

Mediaplazza and Bango linked a deal in which Bango will take responsibility for a big part of MediaPlazza’s billing. With this deal, Bango adds 60.000 mobile content stores to it’s network. For MediaPlazza, this deal means access to wap billing all over the world with just one partner and the possibility on many operators to use Bango’s BillRank, which is a method for putting the content directly on the consumer’s bill. Bango will also accept Craditcards trough PayPal, meaning Bango offers the full scale of payment methods.

I would fire off an email to mediaplazza.com and see what they can do for you :)

Thank you, newton.

I have already checked out mediaplazza.com, but I was wondering if this service would work for a site accessed from a mobile device rather than from a computer.
Any thoughts?

You should contact them and see if there are any plans for mobile as its certainly feasible and if not bango.com.

Most of the smaller mobile screens on the older phones are limited, some to 128 x 96 in terms of screen dimensions and I have created graphics and videos for that size in the past.

Some of the newer models run cut down windows os / symbian os / palm os to name but a few and with screen sizes running at 320 x 240 or even 640 x 480 on some which is superb quality video.

Most allow for playback of wav / midi files which are the audio files used on their sites so you can listen to a sample and you can download these types of files on the mobile device whilst surfing.

Since bango can use paypal which looks cool on the mobile phone and works, it shouldnt be an issue for users to use the web on their mobile to get what they need.

Its definately an opportunity for both mediaplazza and bango to get in on this and why not with .mobi, its an additional revenue stream for them to sell their wares.

I'd hit them up and see what they say :)
