I think you should look for a different name, try and find a decent .COM

3K sounds a bit steep, but it depends on your plans. If you intend to resell don't. If it is for a hosting service this could be a decent domain. .net domains are popular among hosting service (and .net was originally intended for infrastructure). If 3K is the buy now price you should of cause start with a lower offer. Try in the low-mid $xxx range and see what the counter offer is.
