I work for a company that looks to expand and launch a new product that offers online SEO courses and training in form of a marketplace. We were offered seocourses.com domain but not sure if the price is reasonable though and how far should we try to bargain.

Suggestions? Any opinion is highly appreciated.

Without knowing the price its hard to say. SEO training is extremely competitive, just google "seo courses".

Having that domain might be very good, but not knowing your budget, how good your company is in seo and the price requested, I cant guess your limit.

It's a nice name. Just hard to put a value on it and hard to say if it's unreasonable without knowing what price it was offered at.

It does seem a bit bland though. There are other options for educational names: SEOTraining, SEOAcademy, SEOUniversity, SEOSchool, stuff like that. Have you explored those as well?

Also, a lot of "SEO" these days has expanded to general digital marketing stuff. One could argue that maintaining an email list could keep your brand top of mind, which would then make it more likely to be linked to, thus improving the brand's SEO. Would it be weird to offer a list building course on a site called "SEO Courses"? Would "SEO Courses" be too limited one day?

Very good point. As you said, competition is tight in the said area and we are trying to see if it is still possible to get into it while investing a reasonable amount of money. Our budget is around 2K, but so far few options we are looking at are closer to 3K.

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it!

Can't agree with you more! Very good point you have here regarding the future of a project with such name, something we probably should put more thought into.

We previously had a negotiation, as far as I am aware, with the owner of SEOuniversity or SEOschool (one of them for sure) and their price was close to 5K, which is way above our budget.

Thanks a lot for your input, certainly gives us food for thought.

At this point, we are only looking at .com domains. But thanks for the suggestion!
