I am going to be running a top sites script for an old site and I was wondering the best way to get good SE results as I will only be using one page :/?

Are you wondering if php would be a disadvantage for SEO?
If so, don't worry about that. That is not a problem.

Yeah I was wondering that and I was also wondering if I need to tweak anything or add some line of code somewhere in order to be more SE friendly.

I'm not really a coder so how you need to do this from a technical point of view is beyond me really but basically you want your url's look like:

yourdomain.com/car-auctions/ and not yourdomain.com/id=25/

You get the picture;)

Doesn't the script convert the URL's into search engine friendly URL's?
Perhaps you need to have it little customized or even swith to a whole other script if this would be to much hassle.

Hey Lemon Jelly,

Well php is not a problem with search engines, but the URL's such as ( yourdomain.com/thread.php?id=2354234&reply=true&something=1 ) can be penalised.

What top site software were you planning on using? I believe there are MOD's available for some of them to make links SEO friendly.

I've just install Aardvark Topsites PHP, looks like that has SE friendly links! Do I need to add meta tags anywhere? The script doesn't give you that option?

You dont really need meta tags - but if you want to just poke around with the script's code until you find where to put them.
