Hello, I bought this domain a couple days ago. I was going to start a pixel ad site but now I am thinking of backing off it. I thought it was a pretty clever domain name, please tell me what you think.

I have already received a $3,000 bid for it.

I understand that you all want me to take the offer, it is obvious that it is a good idea to take the offer, which I already have not. But could you all give me an apraisal of what I could get here at NamePros and/or somewhere else incase some problems go on with the domain broker I contacted.

Here: It's looking like low $xx max based on the responses.

"Somewhere else": If you're incredibly lucky and some goofball doesn't realize that the million dollar thing is already old, you might just get a $3,000 bid, and if you don't take it you may be waiting years for a low $xxx bid to come along.

Either that or develop it and spend probably a million dollars in advertising to sell the million pixels, as again the idea is already old. Good luck!

Couldn't have said it better ^^

The broker with the $3,000 offer is not asking you to buy a $50 appraisal first is he?

I was thinking the same thing. I can't believe any sane person would offer this much unless they're trying to scam you with a "paid appraisal." Did the person who made the offer have some sort of "PhD President" title of his/her "company" ? If so, you're probably dealing with an appraisal scammer who really isn't interested at all in your domain and just wants you to order an appraisal from a company the scammer is affiliated with.

If it is a legitimate offer, like it's been said before - take the money and run. They are probably lots of similar alternatives still available to register that could be used for a pixel site.

No, the domain broker has over 5,000 domains bought. He has a bunch of testimonials on his website, and no, I did not have to pay anything to get a domain appraisal. It was only e-mails back and fourth. :$: Thank you for the appraisals and I would love some more. :) I am also selling for the link to the domain broker that offers great prices for these domains. :D

What do you all think I can get at NP$. The domain broker seems that he cannot buy the domain. The appraisal from him was free.

You snooze you loose...

After this last post of your's, I'm really not sure you actually had a bid from the broker to begin with, or whether it was just an appraisal.

If it was an actual bid, then you lost your window of opportunity (it's been 17 days since your question was first asked) because you were indecisive (and possibly greedy) AND did not heed the advice that you asked for from the members of NP. If you are not interested in peoples advice, I'd suggest you not ask for it. People sincerely tried to help you with solid advice that seems to have been completely ignored.

If you actually DID have an offer of 3k for the domain, I would say you just had a very expensive and costly lesson in domaining and hope you learn WELL from it.

If it was NOT a bid and was just an appraisal then I suggest you think very clearly about the way you word future posts/questions.

(My apologies to all if this seems a bit harsh but I do not have much patience for these types of situations. TC)

It was bid. Those 17 days ago were e-mails back and fourth of him telling me that he is having personal problems and can't receive any money yet.

The same one that can't come up with the money he originally offered you? That's who you want to charge us for contacting? Please, spare us the time and trouble that would be wasted with that person.

Listen, this is a $20 name at best, and my gut instinct says the "offer" was never legitimate to begin with. When the money hits your bank account - then it's real. Otherwise I say it's bogus, and has been all along.

No disrespect intended, and I wish you good luck.

just curious here: Has anyone tried a little twist on the million dollar pixel idea? such as having a one, two or three million pixel or greater but say having half of the pixels sold going directly to a lottery of sorts. Have like a one million dollar top prize then so on... this way the seller would get half of the pixel sells up front and the other half of pixel profits be devided in the lottery? I am not real sure this make sense or if it has been done but seems to me to be a more appealing approach because they not only get the advertisement but a chance for money. Oh well, maybe you could use this approach if it is available iggy. Thaniks for your time, Doug

"I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for your domain name today...."

Just as well this deal isn't going through as it sounds like it's already started off on the wrong foot.

Sound like a guy from Nigeria that keeps emailing me about helping him get his fathers millions out of the country.... Good golly I sure wish I could help him out. He says he's heard I'm a very trustworthy person (he's right) and I certainly could use a few million dollars as there are quite a few dn's I would really like to buy.

If only there was some way I could come up with a few thousand dollars to pay those darn bank transfer and filing fees....

Like -db- said, it's bogus until you see the :$: ...

Take whatever you can get on this domain, IMO.

Dude owns 5,000+ names and all of a sudden he's too broke or is unable to send the money? Mmhmm...

I'm already in debt and am able to pay $4000 by the end of the week for a domain name that I'm currently purchasing. It's not that hard...it's called "credit card". Either he's making his BS up or you are making the entire bid up...who cares really, because either way, your name is reg fees to low $xx. :)

He is just having a couple personal problems, maybe financial aswell but he is legit. My friends has had a domain bought by him for $500 a year ago and it works. Please, just give me some appraisals and lets drop the domain broker because that is over.

:)

IMO, it's worth < Reg Fee.

Good God!!!

Would somone just PLEEEEEEEEASE shoot me now.... I can't take it anymore.

Rather than keep asking, I suggest you do your own research since you don't seem to be content with what we are telling you here (i.e. that your dn is worth anywhere from $0 to maybe $xx if you are lucky, unless you are able to develop it).

Use the Search box at the top of the page and look up pixel and/or pixels.

Now I'm going to go find a brick wall to hit my head against to make my headache stop....
