Im taking paypal only payments and the names are registered with Godaddy so can somebody walk me through what I need to do once im happy with an offer please?

Once the transaction is done, it's done. Not much else you can do.
Leave some iTrader if you want. That's about all I can think of.

What I mean is is it just a case of pm'ing the buyer my paypal email address for payment, waiting for it to clear then unlocking my domain and sending them the authorization code?

If you value your money, do NOT use paypal unless you know
buyer will not scam you.

You WILL lose your domain and the money if buyer decide to scam you.
Use escrowDNS.com, Sedo Escrow, Moniker Escrow.

Those are places where escrow service will actually secure both domain and money
before buyer get the domain and seller get the money.

Paypal will NOT help you when you are selling digital (downloadable) goods and intangible goods.

If your selling price is too low to even consider using escrow service...
Well what can I say. You are taking a risk using PayPal.

But sureley if I make sure the money is in my paypal account before I unlock the domain it should be ok right?

The buyer can do a chargeback for just about any reason.

I ask new members or those with low TR to pay me with NP$. Established members pay me with PayPal :tu:

No need to stick with just GD and Sedo.

I've never once been scammed on NamePros. I have closed tons of transactions here... It's all about being smart with who you're doing business with, that's all.

Chargebacks do happen and the scammed parties become extremely vocal about them when they do, but on the whole chargebacks are rare.

As long as you relegate yourself to accepting PayPal payments only from end-users and from NP members with decent iTrader ratings, the seller will not willfully evoke a chargeback in 99% of cases.

My 99 feedback comprises almost entirely of paypal deals both buying and selling. Just use common sense about who you are trading with.

My golden rule is $500+ deals from anyone untrusted has to use escrow. I have done up to $5000 deals via paypal just fine with solid reputations members. Call someone on the phone to confirm an indentity. Do not trust those in certain countries where chargebacks are common such as most of africa, asia, and the middle east as well as some european countries. Most chargebacks are from sources outside USA where laws can't reach them.

My rule of thumb is very similar. I generally try to find out something about the potential buyer to determine risk.

If buyer is Unknown and untrackable, or in risky location (Russia, Africa, Korea ,etc.) - I require escrow service or at very least require payment from paypal balance only (no credit card) if under $500 sale.

If sale is over $500, I'll accept paypal only if I determine there is low risk. (able to find out who buyer is and country of origin) If there is risk, I will require escrow.

If sale is over $1,000, I only waive escrow requirements if I know or have done business with the person on the past.
