Hi guys,

So I had very unussual offer coming in via Ebay, not just for one of my domains, but for large part of my domain portfolio (66 handreged domains) along with recently created domains for sale + services website (along with social network accounts and Ebay store)

First of all I made sure lets say 99% its genuine buyer, not just someone wasting my time and we are in negotiations about price, high $x,xxx and other details..

No I came across potential problem, which is me being silly and not creating proper hosted website in first place, but on (GoDaddy managed WP)

I am completely confused between GD offered products about now - website builder / managed wordpress / GD hosted WP. It's probably me just getting a bit excited now which is making it all but more confusing lol

I was wondering, if I can transfer (managed WP) website to other GD account, or even out of GD if buyer wishes so, but GD representative (chat) kept on saying there is no way to move it out of my account. I was convinced he kept on referring back to basic website builder not (managed WP) that couldn't be moved out of my account, despite my best efforts to explain the situation.

Even so we came up with idea, I could potentially hand over my GD account with domains and website to new owner (while money is secured at Escrow), and create new GD account for my self and push rest of the domain names I am keeping over there. He convinced me there would be no problems with me having two GD accounts, even if for couple days and gave me e-mail, that I can get in touch and explain the situation to GD representative for extra security, before I do so!
Buyer seems to be ok with this and is happy to consider this option too.. It's just me making sure this is rather safe. Lets be honest I am still rather new in industry and never sold anything in x,xxx region, so who can blame me for going about things cautiously.

I would appreciate your thoughts, if any of you guys have done this before! What's the best way to go about things?

Appreciate your help!
Thanks

Well I think before you hand over the account to your prospective buyer(s) you need to find out who he's actually... Also ensure your money and other domains are secure before disclosing ur account details to him otherwise, you may find ursef to blame

You should be able to move it. The term you're looking for is "migration". I believe GoDaddy charges $100 for this but call and ask about "migrating" your managed WP to another account. Maybe you'll get a different response.

Thanks, that's very good advice..

I always been paying for everything with my PayPal account which is not my main one so no real worries there I suppose. As for buyer I have never met him in real life, or even spoke on the phone, but from background check I carried out, from his Ebay profile info (all positive, account active for 5+ years, items bought before in region between $500 - $2k) and details he seems to be looking pretty promising. Guy has actually been running affiliate type of website for more than 10 years too..

That's what I was thinking create other GD account push all other domains there (or even transfer to other registrars) keep back up info as a proof just in case. As for payment only option is Escrow (one and only). He's ok to send me some money before hand via PayPal for few domains I was about to drop, but he would like to keep them so I will renew them and leave them in same account.

As I said I seen no Red Flags so far. He's not making any suggestions and is letting me to run the show, so to speak..

Do yourself the favor - don't use PayPal for this transaction. Use Escrow.com.

Nope that wasn't the idea.. I know that, anything over $500 and you will never ever see me using PayPal, sometimes not even that amount..

Escrow is the only option here for the deal it self. He's sending like $100 over to my PayPal for few names, I was about to drop and he would like me to renew and keep them for him..

I mentioned about that PayPal account as the one connected to my current GD account, that's when I tough my only option is to hand over account with stuff I am selling ;)
