hi, I'm new to this site which I was recommended to for advice. I started a domain reseller company (LLC) last year with an inventory of over 500 domains. Most of these are the new donut extensions. I have had some success but found this has taken much more time than I estimated, which takes away from my day job. How or who buys entire portfolios or even segments such as my .university, .delivery, .energy, .church, etc extension groups. At this point I would be willing to sell at a loss because I know the buyer needs to have room for their profit.
Thanks for any direction you could offer. I look forward to hearing from you.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Look at the marketplace for potential buyers. Advertise your portfolio sale where you can to gain attention of any possible buyer.

Unless you have some extremely awesome keywords, you are going to have a hard time selling an entire portfolio of domains in those extensions without it being a huge loss. Most of those just aren't selling well and that's one reason why you are having to take so long to get any sold.

If you want to sell them as an entire portfolio but only have 1, 2, etc. that are even of interest that means a big loss so you'll have to decide what's best in your case.

Perhaps post a thread here in the appraisals section with a few of your best ones and that might give you a better idea.

I am not trying to discourage you, but just inform you that most of the time those extensions are not worth registration fee unless you have a premium name, and then you'll not get what you hope for in most cases. The extension makes the domain!

If youre trying to get rid of them all, try and sell them in many little bundles this will give you some bids on the domains that are worth $0 to hand regged. If you know a few of the domains that are actually worth keeping or selling for a high penny i would suggest sell those individually.
Keep in mind you might not break even.

Goodluck! Hope everything goes well. Really interested to see your portfolio.

Thanks for your advice. Here are some of the domains I think are the better ones of potential value for SEO: babydiaper.delivery, babydiaperhome.delivery, diaperhome.delivery, discountdiaper.delivery, baby.delivery, homediaper.delivery, babygift.delivery, giftbaskets.delivery, weddinggift.delivery, kosherwine.delivery, winehome.delivery, luggage.delivery, medicalsupply.delivery, uniform.delivery, payroll.delivery, overnightpackage.delivery, officesupply.delivery, petsupply.delivery, petsupplies.delivery, battery.energy, bioclean.energy, biocleanenergy.com, biofuel.energy, biothermal.energy, coalpower.energy, electric.energy, electromagnetic.energy, fuelcell.energy, kinetic.energy, lithiumpowered.energy, lpg.energy, lpgas.energy, niclearfission.energy, nuclearfusion.energy, oceanwave.energy, perpectual.energy, propane.energy, quantum.energy, solarpower.energy, steam.energy, sun.energy, turbine.energy, windfarm.energy, windpowered.energy, alkaline.energy, teslabattery.energy, teslabatterypower.com, teslabusinesselectric.com, teslaelectric.energy, teslaelectricpower.com, teslahome.energy, teslapower.energy, teslapowerwall.energy, chips.casino, pokeronline.casino, notredame.university, tcu.university, gramblingstate.university, kettering.university, saintlawrence.university, stedwards.university, stetson.university, virginiatech.university, fantasybaseball.network, fantasyleague.network, fantasybasketball.network, christian.network, christiantv.network, 24hournews.network, 24hoursports.network

There are a lot more .university, .delivery and .energy similar to these. Now seeing this, any further ideas how to sell as group or portfolio? thanks for taking the time to read through.

The prognosis isn't good especially for a quick sale imo and there's some TM's in there

One of my biggest frustrations has been to get buyers aware of the differences with gTLD's. For every "nasty" notice I received from a TM holder, once I pointed out the following I was able to make every sale with a nice outcome for both parties.
While the cybersquatting rules apply to all of the Internet domains, there is a slight difference of their empowerment with the primary extensions such as .com, .net, .gov, .edu, .org. in comparison to their means relating to the new extension names. As you are aware, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is responsible for the coordination of maintenance and methodology of several databases of unique identifiers related to the namespaces of the net and ensuring the network's stable and secure operation. Several years ago they authorized a process of releasing “new” domain extensions which will be released over the next several years. These are nicknamed “Donuts” or better known as gTLDs. Prior to release or as each of these extensions become available, it is the responsibility for any Trademark holder to register such Trademark in the ICANN database. Once a release date is determined there is a minimum 30 day “Sunrise” period which allows only such Trademark holders to purchase domains that may carry their name, product, service, etc. After that, there is an early pre-registration period that Trademark holders can sign up for. Lastly, after that time has passed, the domain becomes available for purchase on the open market, if it is still available, as ''fair use''.

Several elements come into play at this juncture; These were purchased during the open purchase period and most importantly during my cart “check-out” phase I did NOT receive a Trademark holders notice (as I sometimes will if the criteria has been met and if so, I make it my point of business practice to not continue with the purchase and thusly remove the domain from my cart). It is also the purpose for a Trademark holder to register their mark that if there is indeed an interested party that buys the domain, the Trademark holder will hence be given notification. By maintaining these domains in a “parked” position; therefore no ill intent or disparaging claims claim against me of cybersquatting since they missed the legal time frames of registering their Trademark as required (hence a buyer had no way of being aware of this) and the buying and re-selling/auction of domain names is not prohibited. As my outline shows, the person/s in charge with the TM holder (Chief of Technology or legal team) who is responsible for media content or marketing or whatever their department term name is, failed in their part by not understanding what should have been done.

What is a “Sunrise Period?”

A “Sunrise Period” is a period of at least 30 days during which trademark holders have an advance opportunity to register domain names corresponding to their marks before names are generally available to the public.

Does putting my trademark in the Clearinghouse mean that I automatically get my trademark as a domain name in all new gTLDs? No. The Clearinghouse verifies and maintains information from many jurisdictions and classes of goods or services, and many parties may have legitimate rights in the same trademark. Allocation of domain names in a particular TLD occurs according to the registry policies for that TLD.

The new Internet extensions; the so-called gTLDs have been launching since October 2013.

Every TLD launching goes through different phases”

  1. Trademark owners have first right of registration during the so-called Sunrise Period.

  2. After the Sunrise Period variations of premium or limited registrations period might apply.

  3. Finally in General Availability registrations are open for the wholepublic at a standard fee.

But for endusers they wont see it like that... why would they try to brand something thats already branded... it will still be hard to sell specially to a domainer.
