Sedo Auctions - Requires Approval

I have a handful of domains at Sedo. I would like to place them for sale in an auction, but I may be misunderstanding their interface.

I just checked off the domains and selected "... Apply for Premium Auction". Now, I imagine I will hear from them in a week or so.

Is this a special auction? Do they have a regular auction that does not require approval?

Your names have to be approved, and they have to be really good to go to auction without an offer.

the "Apply for Premium Auction" option is for the 7-day GreatDomains.com Premium Auctions which occur once about every 30-45 days ... like the one that is currently running ... GreatDomains Auction for April 2008








these auctions are irrelevant with the 7-day Regular SEDO Auctions

if you receive an offer for any of your domains listed on SEDO , you can send it to a Regular SEDO Auction by choosing the auction option in the Offers Received page (after you click on the domain that had an offer)








domainman101 is referring to the Auctions with Reserve Price service that SEDO is offering

if you have a good (to very good) domain for sale you can contact SEDO and , if the SEDO agent approves , SEDO will list it on an auction (usually for 14 days) without you receiving an offer first

it will appear together with the Regular and GreatD auctions in the current SEDO Auctions

you can read more about this service in paragraph 5.1.2.8 of the SEDO User Agreement

Talking about that, i have a very nice domain name, which goes great with the one in premium domain auction. I would like to put it on regular sedo auction while great domain auction is running. Do u know any name /email at sedo i could contat about that or should i follow standard 'contact us' option on sedo's web? Tnx

I think the email that was on the Domain Auctions page was [email protected] (though there is a small chance that it was [email protected] or [email protected])

however ... [email protected] is their general customer service email , you can use it for all matters







but ... since SEDO has launched a new Customer Support Center recently , I think it is better if you use that

while logged in >>> click Customer Support Center on the top right >>> on the Ask a Question tab >>> choose Auctions for Product >>> and Broker-Assisted Auction for Category







small note : these types of auctions usually run for 14 days so I don't think you can take advantage of the current GreatD auction which ends in about 3 days ... I don't know if the SEDO agent would accept a 2 or 3 day auction but you could be risking low exposure

I didnt want to go for gdomains auction, i just tried to get my name on regular sedo auction while gdomains auction is taking place.

that's what I was saying , since the GreatD auctions end in about 2 days while yours (if it gets accepted straight away) will be ending in about 14 days , therefore the chances of "taking advantage" of the exposure of the GreatD auctions is quite slim since people many times forget/don't-pay-attention to an auction that is 10 days later




asking for a small 2-day auction right now (if it is even possible) "parallel" to the GreatD auction again might not be a good idea because it could result in low exposure (especially if the domain is somewhat lower quality than the GreatD domains)




what you could do is watch out for the next GreatD auction (both date and time) and maybe try to have an auction end at around that time/date
