Wanted to know if anyone could help ease my pain here....a few weeks ago I asked for opinions on some abbreviated domain names that I had and got only reg fee opinions at best...one of the domain names was chpair.com

Accordingly, I placed that name for sale on ebay at auction starting at $9.99. The name ended up selling for that price...and I just transferred it to the new owners..What has got me puzzled and kind of sick is that the company that bought it seems to be fairly big and they have some great one word domain names in their portfolio...makes me wander if my name was even worth looking at by them it would definately be worth more than the $9.99 it sold for..the company is Cyberfuse Technologies LLC..cyberfuse.com. I always thought the name was worth more, but after getting no interest here, and advised that it was not worth more than reg. fee at best..I backed down...what I would like to know now is...should I be sick over this...or does it mean nothing that this company would even be interested in the name? Not blaming anyone here, just think that sometimes we should stick to our guns if we think we have a decent name even when others don't...what I would like to hear now is....That it still isn't worth more than Reg. fee....maybe i'll feel better. :'(

Don't feel bad. There is always the chance that a seemingly low value domain ... means a lot more to a certain end user. With a domain like that .. know one here would have seen that coming, and who knows ... maybe they wouldnt have paid a penny more for it. Ya just never know.

I wouldnt stress over it.

It's spilt milk.

I don't see why anyone would have use for it..doing a google search though, it appears that some people have used it as a variable name in their c++ code, meaning 'character pair'

edit: 2 yrs ago I had 'inull.com', inull being a variable thats sometimes used, and it only sold for ~$15 with a logo

Wholesale vs. End user, in part ... if you provide as much information as possible - including "links" - regarding relevant, suitable End users for your domain(s) we will all try our best to assess them at that level, IMHO. :talk:

Sans these requests / information / intent, the default is Wholesale - Reseller to Reseller - valuations (very commonly, "Reg. fee" and vicinity valuations). :gl:

All the best.

second guessing

i appreciate all the feedback and am not blaming anyone...I am basically second guessing myself...i always like to get others opinions and consider those here at NP to be much more knowledgable than myself...This domain name business is hard for me to learn the ins and outs of..I just feel like I keep making dumb mistakes, either in registering bad names or losing out on what few good ones I do have..I will continue asking for appraisal opinions from those here and value them...but will also go with my gut on one or two of them...The truth is...if I would have kept the name, it would have never amounted to anything anyway...so at least if someting big should arise from it...I can look back and say "hey that use to be mine" B-) Thanks to everyone who responded and like my favorite quote says: " Time tells everything"....
