I have seen many search engines on personal websites where it says

'Search google'
or e.g. 'search namepros'

...using the google search bar.

Is this free? or have they paid google for the search bar?

Im looking for a good free search tool you see for my site.

Sign up for adsense and its availble from there. Yes it is free, and they pay you for clicks on ads from your users searches.
