SE Friendly Links

Hi, I run a cheats website [http://www.cheatsvilla.com] and use a script that fetches the latest cheats from a database; I would like to know how can I configure my .htaccess to make SE friendly links.

se friendly links is a straightforward process that requires two steps. Hacking your code to make new urls and then mod rewrite to tell apache how to translate them.

For example
http://www.yoursite.com/cheat.php?id=566 would need changing in the code so it would output http://www.yoursite.com/v-566-name+of+game

Then something like the entry below in your .htaccess
RewriteRule ^v-([0-9]+)-([A-Za-z0-9\-]+)\$ cheat.php?id=$1 [L]

Thanks but I don't know how to modify the code to apply the modrewrite. Could you help me out? or are there any other suggestions ?
