.se - Cheapest place to register

Anyone know the cheapest place to register .se names from a reputable company? The cheapest I've found so far is $39.53 from Moniker

The cheapest registrar to my knowledge is Loopia.se but unfortunately that site is in Swedish only. They are running a special christmas campaign for private persons and companys where you can buy a 1 year .se registration for about $3 thats 19 SEK (Price valid for first year only) and maximum of 100 domains allowed. Tis offer is valid until Dec 31 2007. Price including Swedish Tax (25% VAT) Regular price for .se is about $22 /year or 139 SEK.

You can pay with your credit/debit card.

Crystone.se / .com have .se registration for $9 and their site is in English.

But I wouldn't recommend them, as they require you to fax them a copy of identification before they will go through with the purchase. Their customer service is slow and a joke. But hey, thats just my experience.

ID (company registration or taxpayer number) for .SE domain registrations is required

No restrictions - but if you chose to register the domain as a company you have to identify your company with a company registration number i think. At least that's how it works for me.

Good to hear, but Moniker wouldn't let me proceed, it said:

ID (company registration or taxpayer number) for .SE domain registrations is required

Do you just make up some numbers for that box?

Thanks John. I'll check it out, might just go with them then. Are they a decent enough company to go with?

Where you register .se and .dk domains doesn't matter at all because both these registries offer you the possibility to manage all your domains from the registry and to pay renewal fee to the registry.

For .se domains the renewal fee is 120 SEK + VAT. I'm not paying VAT since I'm a foreigner. For .dk domains the renewal fee is 36 DKK + 9 DKK VAT = 45 DKK. Danish VAT is somehow different and the domain name is considered beeing used inside Denmark and even foreigners have to pay VAT.

Go ahead and register the domain where it is cheapest. Then for .se domains go to the registry www.iis.se, change to English language, log in to the "Domain Manager", and remove all handles to the registrar you used to register the domain name. Also make sure you change who is billed the renewal fee. You are now able to manage the domain from an English interface at the registry.

Right now the .se registry runs a Christmas special pricing to their registrars and you are able to register .se domains for approximately 15 to 20 SEK.
