Script help...what does this mean

hey Ya'll (that's how we say it down south)

anyway...i bought a script that is encoded. To unlock it I am supposed to follow the directions below.

I have tried uploading the files to my host, unzipping them and then tried to execute. I tried opening the index.php file in IE.

I haven't gotten an unlock code yet.

Am I doing it right or is there something I am missing? I am not getting the license key request notification that is supposed to pop up.

Any help would be appreciated.

IMPORTANT - HOW TO REQUEST AND ENTER SCRIPT UNLOCK CODE!

1) file to edit: index.php file in admin folder
2) before you upload file to your hosting account, open file with notepad, in line 3 enter
your email address where you want to receive script unlock code (replace [email protected] with
your actual email address). After you install script properly, execute it or execute script's admin
area. At the moment you will see Licencing system notification, this will mean that unlock key is
automatically requested. Unlock key will be delivered within 24 hours from requesting time.

Sometimes it is the simple things, so I figure I will point this out just in case. You didn't mention in your steps taken that you updated the email address prior to uploading and unzipping the package on your site. The directions indicate that you are supposed to set your email address in the PHP script prior to uploading and running it.

If you haven't set the email yet, you will want to ftp into your site, grab the file, update it, and put it back.

If you already set your email in the index.php page as described, then my next question would be... What are you seeing when you try to run the index.php page. Are you getting an error? Blank results Page?

What kind of hosting service do you have? Some hosts block the php mail() function. That might have something to do with it as well. Hard to tell withour seeing the code and/or some result message.
