The domain's administrative contact must be an Icelandic legal entity, domiciled in Iceland.
2.2. Domestic Applicants
2.2.1. All domestic legal entities registered with an Id. No. and name in the Public Register of Enterprises or the National Register of the Statistical Bureau of Iceland are eligible to apply for a domain according to these rules.
2.2.2. A domestic applicant may register a unrestricted number of domains.
2.3. Foreign Applicants
2.3.1. A foreign legal entity with no Icelandic Id. No. may apply for a domain on the basis of a registered trade mark which is already registered with the Icelandic Patent Office. Only one domain may be applied for on the basis of each trade mark. The trade mark must consist of letters and/or numerals exclusively. A foreign applicant shall specify an Icelandic agent as administrative contact for the domain.
2.3.2. A foreign party holding an international legal status, or internationally regarded as having such a status may apply for one domain. Examples are foreign embassies, organizations constituted under international law and international sports federations. A foreign applicant shall specify an Icelandic agent as administrative contact for the domain.
