Save target as

Hello,
I am having an unusual problem. I have some av images on my website for people to right click on and "save picture as". The images are in gif format however when you "save picture as" they will be saved as bitmap form. And there is no option to change it to another format. By the way I am using Win XP home edition.
Thank you to anyone that may be able to make a suggestion how to fix this problem.

Hello Courtney,

This is just a suggestion and I hope it works, but maybe before they try to save the av's have them to delete their temporary internet files and cookies, this may fix the problem.

Why don't you simply have them download the file when they click it?

Also, if all else fails, although your only option is to save as a bmp file type, try entering the extension in the File Name input field anyways. For example if you right click on a picture and do save as for a file named pic.gif, just enter pic.gif in the File Name field and try saving it. Another thing you can do if you can only get it saved in bmp format is open it in paint or another graphics program like psp or photoshop and then do a file save as and save it as the correct format.
