When I use save for web in photoshop, it seems to ignore what ever setting I choose png, giff, or whatever, and just save it as a Jpeg..is there another setting somewhere i need to change?..

getting driven mad by this prob...cant remember it ever happening to me before.....

ps. im using image slices, to make up a html page, and i need them all to be giffs.

thank you.

ok, when you go to publish for web, a big box pops up, you need to click on each slice individually to set its settings, which are in the top right. I just do like select all and change them once. hope that helps!

umm, i would do a screen cap, but im not on my PC, if that doesnt work, just go through, and in the TOP RIGHT, chane all the slices to what u want. its not that hard.

No your right you wouldnt think it would be that difficult...but I seem to be getting bogged down with this... surly there is a setting somewhere to change the output from jpeg to giff

ok, go to file>save for web. Now, does something pop up, like a box?

you should be able to set the file settings in the top right hand corner, there is a box that has a lot of options, like gif, animate gif or whatever, make it what you want, then hit save, and it should be like, images and html or just images.

appreciate you trying to help me, there must be another setting somewhere, ive been thru edit>preferences.

Although it only seems to happen when im trying to save an image that ive sliced.
Ive been switching between photoshop and image ready, trying to save my image of as a bunch of giffs along with an html file.

the html file works fine it has a table with all the images in it, but their always jpegs no matter what i try and save em off as using file>save for web.

or file>save optimised, under image ready.
