.ru with Russian characters??

I want to register .ru but it wont let me register it in russian characters, only english. Whats the deal?

That's how its supposed to be - only latin allowed. IDN should be possible though - anyone?

Cyrillic letters are not allowed in .ru. Why? Who knows?

Supposedly, when RUNIC has a chance to launch .рф they will allow Cyrillics.

.com / .net are your best options right now for Cyrillic IDNs.

Will try to invest there- there are a lot of Russian speaking people out there who would really enjoy not using latin letters
