Maybe your reasoning here is a bit flawed. Californialocal com is a good domain name, that's obvious.

But locals in Madrid, Berlin, and so on will probably identify with ccTLDs from their countries, like .de, .es, and so on. Plus, they'd also identify with the translation of "local" in their language.
