Here's another couple of interesting REX theatres, this is the Rex Theatre on Panepistimiou Street in the centre of Athens. Apparently, the theatre is facing structural and financial problems, which is a shame because it is a modern day Athenian landmark.

Originally opened as the 3,000 seat Borough Theatre & Opera House in 1896 (architect;Frank Matcham). It was modernised into an Art Deco style cinema by architect William R. Glen in 1934 and opened as the 1,889 seat Rex Cinema. Later known as the ABC Stratford it closed in 1969 and lay closed and unused until 1996 when it was restored as the Rex Theatre for live pop shows and events.
Below; The Rex Theatre ( "the Rex"), Pensacola, was opened in 1930 as the Rhodes-Collins Furniture Company, which can still be seen in faded lettering on the side of the building. Around 1937 when the furniture company moved, the building was converted to a 650-seat movie theater: the Rex.
