Hi,

I just recently finished making www.ctrlaltproxy.com and i was wondering if you could give me some feedback, how i could improve it etc.

It currently has a Gmail feature which is a seperate proxy with SSL encryption that allows you to access gmail through a proxy.

The AJAX is the auto-suggest feature on the main proxy page, which suggests from a database from about 50 most popular sites.

Thanks!

I love the logo. Also a pleasure to see the navigation.

Two thumbs up.

Well I say, it sure does look nice! Simple, clean and easy to navigate.

Tip: Becoming an iCTRL member allows benifets such as advertisement free surfing and encryption

Spelling error there.

Looks very nice indeed :)
The logo is great, the navigation is fantastic, and the site as a whole has a great feel to it.
Great job.

There is really nothing to make it any different then any of the other small search sites. And there really isnt a log per say. It is just plane jane to be quite honest.

I quite like it. The problem is though, in places where someone might want to use it it will be blocked in days. In fact, my school will already have it blocked because it has the word "proxy" in the URL.

Otherwise it is an extremely nice site and it looks plain and simple.

Not necessarily, as my school tends to block 95% of proxy sites too (but i dont need to use one since they dont block mail), but my proxy site hasnt been blocked (yet) for some reason.. I think they tend to scan for content within the site (like the PHP Proxy source etc).

I am currently investigating other ways to try and bypass the firewall, even if the main site is blocked. Any suggestions? (No mirrors, it means basically operating another site)

do you use BGFL (probably not, because it only operates in birmingham, uk)? In my school they use that, and they block anything with anything blocked in their url. Even before I spoke to them they used to block searches on 6yd.net if I searched for "porn" or "biological weapons" (or "proxies" for that matter), just because, obviouslly, it has those words in the URL. I think it also scans the text on the page because it blocks some pages even though their urls are fine. I assume they also have a "blocked" list.

that is a really nice site, especially the auto suggest, it looks a bit like google suggest but seems to work a lot lot better, you must have put a lot of work into it, and it is great what you have done!

Thanks for your comments. Due to recent complaints about the gmail proxy being a phishing site, i have merged the two proxies together. However, Javascript is now disabled (and CGI was causing alot of server overload). Do you think this will become a problem?
