I was about to say that there should be consequences in a situation like this and I feel for the designers that wasted their time, but then I noticed that the first post was days after the contest closed. They probably didn't realize that you should give a longer time frame, didn't get any responses, and moved on.

The mistake here was that they only gave two days for the contest, which is a shame because there are some talented designers on this site and I'm sure they would've been happy with the entries had they given the contest at least a week.
