:( Never in my life have I had the problems that I now have with Registerfly. On 12-5-2005 I purchased a domain wintersports.tv. The domain has been parked at Sedo. On 12-14-2005, I noticed that I was missing 7 .tv domains from my account. I immediately called there customer service and was not given any answers. I asked the person questions for over an hour and they would not tell me why the names were gone. They also refused to allow me to talk to a manager.

I called back several time and kept getting the same service rep. Finally on my 5th call I got a new person who said the names were rejected from my account, but they could re-registere them again for me.(?) It was all very confusing. Why could I not have the names before but I can have them now?
Why hadn't I received any emails or calls about this?

After about another hour of chat the rep put 6 of my names back and said I was good to go. What about my wintersports.tv? I asked. He did not have an answer.

I decide to a whois search on the name and what do I discover? It is now regged to someone else from AU. They regged it on 12-14-2005. Nine days after I had paid for and regged this name. I have the reciept to prove it.

Registerfly also has the bad habit of allowing you to reg names that are not available. I used there "Power TLD search" to look up some names. They came up Available. I paid for them through e-check ( which is one of their option ). 15 minutes later i get a message that the registration has failed because those names are already regged(some for over a year!!) and guess what? Now I'm not allowed to get a refund because I paid by check!! What a Scam this place has going.

Don't be fooled like I was. Stay away from Registerfly!

Nils

Well... talking about regfly.
I have trying to move all my domains out of them.

Since the day they become ICANN accredited, their services got worse and worse.

Pardon "hijacking" the thread, but I have a question for those of you who had
registered .tv domain names: is it instant? Or does it take a few days before
it's confirmed?

Incidentally this happened with a few other registrars as well.

I have it registered for around half day before it is usable...
Some told me it will take longer.

The domains I had pushed to me after a sale (here) were parked on SEDO within about 5 hours, which is longer than GoDaddy or NameCheap, but still not outrageous. I've heard a lot of negative pub about RegFly,which makes me hesitant to try to move those names out, but also about keeping them in? What to dO?

I have domains in registerfly, they're fine. But only I know is their customer support is poor. I had one big problem with regfly, they're no longer accept paypal due to merchant (they didn't explain). They had paypal system in under construction and submit ticket to add funds. When their paypal system is up, we'll pay them back. Few months later, they emailed us to pay them back but they asked for other payment method besides paypal.

gettinpaid,

Sorry to see this happen to you :( Unless you're really detailed, they will just reffer you back to RegisterFly, but a detailed explaination sometimes leads to suprises from Tucows. And, sadly, since name is registered by another register, you can't do much about that one. But, you can help others, and be one of many to "stick it" to RegisterFly, by contacting Tucows here. I think ALL .tv's RegisterFly does are through Tucows. As to the check, scream theft of services and account fraud to your bank :talk:

Please keep us informed, no matter what happens :)

I'm always surprised when these RegFly complaints pop up again and again and again on whatever forum. If you were to list the problems people have had with them, RJ would have to get another server.

People have been warned about Register Fly forever and still there are domainers that use these clowns. Wake up!!!!

I liked them till I had a problem earlyer this month. Now I think I have 1 domain left and will transfer it out soon. I had a problem with them and like you they wouldn't let me talk to higher up. They gave me the run around and I'm going to get the last say when I no longer use them.

Man, the outrageousness of these complaints against registerfly have steered me away. You guys talk so non-chalantly about these problems, but you are trusting registerfly with the protection of your intellectual property and it just amazes me that anyone would chose to use them with the bad rep they have.

YIKES!

I
Hey Chippy Boy , Competitive Pricing ,Don't make me laugh based on those Very high prices you quoted on chat.
Plus I love that Signature ,How about a photo of the KIDs ,you have everything else there. Did you not read about the 4 LINE limit on Signatures??

As to the original question/problem .I have had some problems with Registerfly ,but a lot less than I have had with some other domain name registrars that people here recommend all the time. RegFly (NamePros Member) has been most helpful in fixing any small problem. FYI I currently have 1107 names with Registerfly and they are all staying there.

.TV registration and WHOIS is a problem at a lot of Registrars So much so I refuse now to sell on my own Retail sites, because of having to refund Registrations for already registered names that had shown as available .

One additional comment. A lot of people using forums and chatrooms such as Namepros assume that they can say things with immunity from normal laws governing Defamation and Fraud, Not so,always be careful calling people or companies terms like "scammers".

Regfly is very slow compared to some others in some areas. I have a few names with them and that is how it will remain. Sorry to hear it man :(

I have some names with Registerfly and other then problems with .be's I have had no problem with them at all. I think they might just be experiencing growing pains and will get their act together before long. I've always believed in giving somebody a chance until they screw me over and registerfly hasn't done that yet.
