I am watching a name which went through Name Jet public auction and closed with no bids.

Name does not resolve but the whois shows defined nameservers.

Does this imply that the registrar is holding the name and it will likely not become available to register?

Not a great name. dot org with a hyphen but 2 great keywords and I would think worth more than reg fee.

Hard to say for sure just by looking at whois records but registrars are known to "keep" domains so it wouldn't totally surprise me if they did.

The domain could also have potential legal issues and is being held because of that..

Basically, no way of getting an exact answer. You may try calling the registrar and getting an answer from them directly or basically keep watching to see if it goes PendingDelete or whois updates with something that tells you otherwise.

You need to keep your eye on it. That is impossible to say you beforehand. You may contact domain name registrar. But in this case you will let them know that you are interested in that domain name.

I was under the impression that names only went to public auction after going through the pre release/pending delete before public auction but I just noticed the whois date don't seem quite right for all that.

The name is reg'd at Fabulous and their expiring name agreement with NJ may cause things to be different.

The name is 2 totally generic words i.e. no trademark issues.
