Is there any restrictions to reg .Name and .MOBI domains ?

However I am not sure on this but a restriction on .mobi domains refers to its development. It needs to meet some mobile standards afaik. Correct me if I am wrong

But to answer your question, there are no requirements to buy .Mobi, but there are standards for websites to make them easy to access on mobile devices. See the .Mobi section or pc.mtld.mobi .

As for .Name, their website says:
".name remains is a space for individuals' Personal Names. A Personal Name may be, without limitation, a name, nickname, pseudonym, alias, or something an individual or fictional character is commonly known as in its own social context. An individual can register a Personal Name, or a company or individual can register a fictional character to which it has rights. This is valid for both third level and second level registrations." At this time, (registering) .NAME and/or .MOBI are both generally worthless ... without compelling developments! :imho:

Nepal, the only problem with that ... is that no one here insulted anyone or said that your beloved .MOBI (or .NAME) is a "crock", IMHO. If you, at this time, are hand registering .MOBI and .NAME domain names without specific plans for compelling developments ... it's going to be a very uphill battle, in my view!

.MOBI (or .NAME, for that matter) Rosies© who continuously fail to take sage, experienced advice and choose, rather, to take humble opinions personally and make it an "us versus them" debate are hardly visionary or courageous ... and, frankly, are doomed even before the extensions themselves fail, IMHO. :red:

No restrictions for either as far as I am aware. Although I believe the .name extension was created with intentions for "names" I have still seen tons and tons of popular keyphrases in the .name extension
