I have a discussion forum that is used by many sites. I want to see how many hits are coming from each site so I can adjust ad impressions accordingly (since each site/person will make their fair share of money). For example, the link would look like mysite.com/track.cgi?ref=Mike and then I would have an admin CP where I can see all the stats about Mike's referrals.

Can someone give me a good hits tracker that I can use?

do you have cpanel??? If so there is a stats page on there I would say awstats is the best!

But I want each person to have their own link, because they might be sending hits from many different places, or from chat rooms. Each person needs their own account and link.

No, I am looking for just a normal hits tracker, not integrated into anything, that will track how many hits a certain person is sending by using their provided referral link.

Maybe I'm not being specific enough. For the sake of this example, pretend I'm using the Referral hack for Invision. Each member has their own link:

myboards.com/index.php?ref=Matt

Regardless of where the visitor came from, be it a chat room, another website, whatever, when someone clicks that link, it counts as one referral. Matt can then log into his account and see how many clicks he's referred that day.

Now, take this out of Invision and that's what I need. I need a script that does just that, except is a simple CGI script that will track sent clicks per account.

mysite.com/track.cgi?ref=Matt

So Matt would get one referral for the site if you were to click that.

I don't need to know anything about browsers or anything, just a simple list that shows who's sending the most hits.

That is SO close to what I am looking for, except there's one problem. It won't let you have links going to the same URL. Since every person will have a link, and they'll all go to my site, I need to be able to have them all direct to the same URL.
