Real estate agent is the profession. A Realtor is a member of the National Association of Realtors.
The term is trademarked and NAR is generally pretty aggressive in protecting it.

I tried registering LowCostRealtors.com and got this letter then cancelled the domain:

It has recently come to the National Association of REALTORS®’s (“NAR”) attention that you have registered the LOWCOSTREALTORS(dot)com

domain, which improperly incorporates NAR’s trademarks. We respectfully request that you immediately cease any use or proposed use of this improper domain name.


As a member of NAR, you know that NAR is the exclusive owner of the REALTOR®, REALTORS®, REALTOR ASSOCIATE® and REALTOR with Block “R” Logo trademarks (“REALTOR® Marks”), which are federally registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. NAR licenses use of the REALTOR® Marks to its Members, and each Member agrees, as a part of their local Association’s Bylaws, to abide by NAR’s rules governing such use. The short video Make Our Marks Remarkable in the Law, Ethics and policy section of REALTORS.org explains the importance of proper use of the REALTOR® Marks by Members. You may find additional information in NAR’s Membership Marks Manual, available through Realtor.org: Membership Marks Manual.


NAR expressly prohibits the use of descriptive words or phrases, including geographical locations, with the REALTOR® Marks.
