Are u familiar with a program that uses a wireless device (maybe pda) with a computer. Basically, a teacher would pose a question to class as he is lecturing. Students would have to enter their answers on a wireless handheld device. The professor would see all of their answers on his computer screen and immediately see who got it right and wrong. The answers for each student would be automatically recorded. What do u think?

We use something like that in my biology class. It's a little handheld device that looks like a remote control. You register your device online for the class so your clicker is associated with your student id/name. You use it to "enter" the quiz/test and then the teacher can pull up a question and everyone can answer it, and in real time he can see how many people have answered out of how many people entered the "quiz." Then when everyone has answered or when the time limit is up he can see how many people got it wrong and then you get credit based on that. Usually it's an easy question used for attendance because it's a big lecture hall. Wish I could remember the actual name/brand of the device.

I know what you mean, we have that type of thing at our school but on Desktops and laptops. Remote Control software is what our school uses for this...I think?

I dont think i'd like to have a handheld thing - i'm pretty happy with the current system of teachers randomly remotely-monitering our screens without warning.

Heh, I once took out the DSL cable when my PC was locked and my account stayed locked even after a reboot. :o Had to get my account reset. xD

ICT teacher was not amused... Of course, I was. (:p)
