It's probably been answered before, but I couldn't find it searching the threads.

How is the order determined in the live NP auctions? Just wondering as I've seen many dipping. Obviously, the ones with bids go first, but what determines the higher placement of other names without bids?

Thanks

30 minutes before the auction begins, the queue is shuffled and the order is random. Gives everyone a fair chance. ;)

Bravo

As it should be.

You might want to add this info on the submission somewhere to avoid confusion. Until now, I was kinda ticked. Kept seeing my submission drop lower and lower, thinking it would stay there.

Thanks Bill!

A little more info for you -- The first 60 names are ordered by prebids in relation to their reserves. Anything that meets or nears the item's reserve is pretty much guaranteed a spot. Then the order of those first 60 names is shuffled randomly 30 minutes before the event.

We usually do around 80-90 names during an auction event. The remaining names are ordered by prebids in relation to their reserve, and the order of those will change during the live auction as more prebids are placed. Anything not auctioned will be canceled with list fees refunded to sellers.

This is the most fair method we could come up with to give everyone a fair shot while featuring the most "in demand" names during the live event.
