Hello, guys!
I'm not here to blame Snapnames or their support team. They are cool people and I love the Snapnames because it's a great tool for backordering! But I have the same problem for the second time, and that's why I'm looking for the best solution possible for issues like this.
As many of you I do backorders through the Snapnames and everything goes smoothly...until one of my domains get caught with vividdomains.com registrar. This registrar is one of the Snapnames partner. The very first time I knew about it was in 2013. I placed a backorder on domain, which landed on vividdomains.com, then I paid 69$ for successful catch. Then I received message from Snapnames that payment is accepted and I should wait for the ownership transfer in 72 hours. But vividdomains.com didn't send me any login details, and even whois records were empty! After 72 hours I contacted Snapnames support team, and they said they will solve the issue. But nothing happened! I wrote to them again and again(not every day, but every 2 weeks)! They responded somethning like "we can do nothing, because we have no response from vividdomains.com-registrar". But eventually, TWO MONTHS AFTER BACKORDERING I've got access to my domain! Thanks God! What is interesting this domain was on parking during the whole 2-month period, and whois records were empty(I could see the dates, but no registrant data). Is that ok with ICANN rules?)) But it was in 2013.
Now I will tell you about the 5 of may 2014 backorder. My another domain was lucky to be caught by VividDomains again! Now it's only 24 hours after backorder and I still don't have access to my domain! Right after successful backorder I paid 69$, and got email about payment and ownership transfer. But no email from VividDomains! I've sent email to the support team of both VividDomains and Snapnmes to remind them about previous problems with VividDomains to make sure this time I will get my domain quickly. Take a look on what Snapnames responded today:
"Thank you for contacting SnapNames.com!I looked into the domain you backordered and it appears to have just expired on May 5th so what this means is that it will go up for auction about 36 days after that date. At that point you already have your backorder placed so if you are not out bid you will get the domain name. At this point this is the only information I have on it as it did not enter the auction yet. If I can close this case please let me know."
What I see is that support team completely misunderstand the situation. They could be more attentive. I responded them with whois records:
Domain Name: *****
Registrar: VIVID DOMAINS, INC
Whois Server: whois.vividdomains.com
Referral URL: *****
Name Server: NS1.INTERIMNAMESERVER.COM
Name Server: NS2.INTERIMNAMESERVER.COM
Status: ok
Updated Date: 05-may-2014
Creation Date: 05-may-2014
Expiration Date: 05-may-2015
So as you can see this domain is not expired. It dropped on the 5th of may, and it should be mine, because I was the only one who placed a backorder and paid for it.
What can you advice? May be I should write to PayPal, because I've made this payment through them? Not to get my money back, but to ask them to write to Snapnames to make this issue solved as soon as possible. I don't want to wait for two month again!
When this had happened at first time I was too lazy to write about this on forum, because I do not want to complaint or blame anyone. Sometimes problems happen even with such big players as Snapnames. But as it happens for the second time I'm not going to be silent. I believe I must write this to prevent such cases in future and find solution for them. Because this can happen to any domainer. I've paid only 69$ for the backorder to get into the waiting line for 2 month! Imagine, you won an after-backorder-auction, paid 5000$ and then you have to wait 2 months until VividDomains will give access to your domain. It's not normal, I think))
Thank you, for reading!))
Do we have any representatives of Snapnames on Namepros? I will be glad to talk to them))
