Just as an FYI, when I appraise a domain I consider name length, its market [technology, ecommerce etc] and a few other factors. I realize many consider backlinks, site traffic or unique visits and even PR as a factor. Consider that business.com sold for $1.3 million - and none of the factors [mentioned] were considered in the sale. Fact is, a domain is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it. If they really want it, think it can become a marketable brand, then the appraised value of a domain means nothing. I always suggest using it as a starting point when bargaining with a potential buyer.

Are you kidding me? I don't want to hurt any feelings, but this domain is worth only the $7.00 reg fee.

Supreme, if you think it is worth $1626, then why not buy it from this person for $200 right now? This looks like a case of the blind leading the blind.....

I am not looking to purchase the domain nor am I trying to weasel it out from under someone either.

Perhaps you care to define your reasoning behind your minute quote, with some professionalism, instead of being nasty and nieve??

I don't put much weight on any appraisal that leapfish.com gives purely because leapfish.com is associated with Sedo.com and Sedo benefits from both domain appraisals and the sale of the domain [should the seller sell it at Sedo].

An example of their inaccurate appraisals is they gave an appraised value on a domain of $9300 which I appraised for $611. Quite a stark difference. Fact is, I don't look at a domain and say 'hmmm, don't like that domain it has a hypen and its only worth the $7 domain registration fee."

Its a good domain but dor worth 1626, i think that you got the value from a site like leapFich.com. The name is not good, you use an "-" in domain , i don't like that. For this domain try to make a site where people could talk about cars (a forum ) or a site here people could sell cars and car pieces.

Good Luck

Well Supreme,

If you appraised Prime-Cars.com for $1626, then how would you appraise PrimeCars.com? Fact is, no one is searching "prime cars" "car prime" "prime-cars". This domain just does not have the Overture to be worth $1626. Sorry. I have put in my two cents and I will not continue to debate this any longer. I hope I can be proved wrong, for Maroon_Cool's case.

oveture

only identifies what is being search currently and not future growth areas on the internet.

OVT is only a small part of the equation when it comes to choosing a domain to buy or reg. google is actually a mispell, what was that worth before anyone new google?????

It's all about potential which is very easily realised if you have enough funding behind you.

I suppose everyone comes to you when looking for a domain - before they buy a domain? How would you know what anyone is looking for and know what they are willing to pay for it if they were to find it?

Just wish those that provided negative info would back their negativity up with some actual statistical information that could honestly prove that my appraisal is unfounded.

I think you and the rest should have read my post [ #4 ] prior to expelling information without fact.

my guess is x to low xx
as the hyphen does hurt it and to me prime and cars do not go together over here in Oz you may say "prime beef" but not "prime cars"

so to me the domain does not make sense
