Know.pro, Task.pro and Strip.pro were regged by InvisionTech earlier this month. I added Quick.pro, Touch.pro, Pearl.pro, Preview.pro and Workshop.pro from your list and left rep. Also regged Demo.pro, Scan.pro, Good.pro, Freeware.pro, Birthday.pro, Relocation.pro, Process.pro and Companies.pro.

More and more of my back burner ideas were getting regged so I figured I'd better put up or shut up before the 25% discount disappears next week. I think it's fair to say that alot of early .pro domainers wouldn't touch the keywords in the lists above with a barge pole but as the snow melts, standards drop!

Having paid $1,000 each for Company.pro and Review.pro, Companies.pro and Preview.pro at $74 felt like a good deal. I won't be saying that when I have to pick which keywords to renew for $99 so hopefully we are heading for permanently lower reg fees and no restrictions in 2008 otherwise I will be dropping 50-100 .pros and writing the cost off to misadventure.

It's not an obvious .pro reg which is probably why it's still available but it has a massage and mobile gadget angle.

It took me a while to realise the potential of keywords like this with .Pro. I remember somebody regging Fast.pro and thinking it was the worst .pro reg I'd ever seen but then I thought, isn't a fast professional service what most people want? So I figured this type of .pro domain could be useful for branding purposes and ended up regging Ultra.pro, Turbo.pro, Real.pro, Total.pro, Good.pro, and Quick.pro.

Very true. I picked up MobilePhone.pro and somebody had been trying to sell it for $100,000 on Afternic before dropping it. It would have made more sense to sell it for $200 and double your money than lose the reg fee.

Atlanticcity.pro and biloxi.pro (both casino/bet hubs) were registered by a close friend of mine last week.

I am also hoping that .PRO prices drop in 08 to allow this extension to take root. If the prices do not trop and restrictions are not lifted, .PRO registrations will be known as the ripoff of the decade!!! I hope the .PRO administration is not inept to the these very basic requirements for .PRO to be successful and competitive against other TLDs.

Nexus.pro is excellent. There are 10 historical bids for the .biz on Sedo. I like to see that because it means the keyword is either strong enough to be bid for in the second weakest gTLD or it's popular enough to be developed in all the other extensions so .biz is the only gTLD left. I think with Nexus it's the latter, it's a great brand and gets developed across extensions.

I don't think Node.pro works. It's an obscure keyword, there are no bids on the equivalent .biz on Sedo and only 1 on any of the other leading extensions. You should have banked Nexus and moved on because by trying to replicate it, you've doubled the reg fee for Nexus.

Suits.pro makes sense, professional people wear suits to work. I thought about regging it myself. What put me off is 5 of the 7 main extensions are already for sale on Sedo. I think this shows it's a difficult keyword to make money out of on the Internet. People want to try a suit on before buying it. You can get round that by having a visiting tailor service, measuring yourself, or keeping measurements uploaded on a tailor site but I'm not convinced it's lucrative. If you want a better fit with the extension you could reg Tailor.pro or if you want to maximise Overture, Dress.pro is still available.

I would have stuck with Suits.pro and left Suit.pro on the peg. The plural has a much better cut than the singular. Reversing this, I've regged 4 plurals to cover the back of my singulars and on reflection I think 3 of the 4 were a waste of time. Regging the plural or the weaker of the singular and plural only makes sense if you are definitely going to develop, otherwise you are better of regging something else. If somebody registered the weaker option and develops it, your stronger option is going to be worth more to them than on the aftermarket so it can be a blessing in disguise.

Equity Loan is the third highest PPC keyword on my list. I regged AccidentLawyer.pro, which is the fifth, a couple of days ago. I think high PPC two worders like this in .pro are fine but its easier to unlock PPC value with .com because you've got the benefit of direct navigation. I get quite alot of traffic for StudentLoan.pro and I think it must be because somebody developed it as a mini-site a couple of years back. I noticed Immobilien.pro was the third most bid for .pro behind Golf.pro and Casino.pro so I figured with Germany being included in the original list of 4 .pro countries there might be some mileage in German .pro keywords.

It's a risky strategy and I wouldn't have tried it without the Sedo bid data and even that is risky because 25 people may have all bid 100 Euros for a particular German keyword .biz so you have to assume you will pick up a few duds. I think Sportwetten.pro might be valuable because Germans use pro and sport in the same way as we do in English so it works with the extension. The German for football, Fussball.pro was only regged 6 months ago so if you were a native German speaker, I think there would be 100's of saleable keywords available.

Translations on free translation sites don't always work with German keywords. For example, there is a post on Namepros by some guy trying to sell what he thought was sex in German but it turned out the word meant Gender and not sex to to a German speaker.

My only English language reg recently is Pinball.pro. There are 13 previous bids for Pinball.eu and 4 for Pinball.in on Sedo and I think .pro works much better with the keyword.

I look for exceptional keywords with great ovt/domainscore that apply to a niche we want to target.

Yes .com's are cheaper to hand reg...but try and get these keywords in .com and see what they cost...

Good points, some keywords really suit the extension as well! I'm going to keep an eye open and bide my time till i find an available .pro which has good development potential so it doesn't go to waste. Anyone know the cheapest place to reg them?

Encirca.com is pretty much the only place you can reg them. They charge $99 normally, currently discounted to $74.

Whether .pro is the right domain investment for you depends on your domaining knowledge and appetite for risk. A willingness and capacity to throw alot of money down the drain in the short to medium term are pre-requisites.

You can reg 17 .coms for the price of a .pro but they will be unbrandable monstrosities that the World Memory Champion couldn't hold in his head for longer than 30 minutes.

As soon as I checked the keyword and its meaning, I just had to register it. It is a good keyword. Thanks to media wizard! :D I am looking into different options available to develop it into some social networking type site, it may work well with other content types as well.

True. I may sell both domains to same user for a discount rather than have to deal with a competing singular word in same market. I took dress.pro, thank you.

Nothing in particular but in google adword keyword tool, just search for word "wall" and use the "Use synonyms" option... too generic but it might work for someone looking to develop it.

I have a list of .PROs that I want to register but the price and risk is just too much to bear any further... not after 132 domains just in .PRO.

.DE is the 2nd or 3rd most popular cTLD so I think you are in good position with those german keywords. You may be left hanging on to them for some time but in long run, it is a good strategy. Good luck!

OVT "with extension" was a huge surprise.

While obviously all the premium domains have been registered in LLLL.in - there are still about 150 with domain score greater than 250. As you know domainscore is the parameter that defines 'Premium Domains' as per premiumdomains.com

I've also attached the xls file with the relevant numbers to reduce the bandwidth consumption for those tools. The xls also contains the original scan list in a separate sheet.
