Premier Domains options?

I came across a couple domains that were unregistered, yet GoDaddy said they are "premier domains" and wanted about $1500 for each of them.

In this case, would you go to a different registrar and see if you could get it for the usual registration fee?

You cant buy these names for the usual registration fee because they are already owned by someone. If you want one of these names you have to pay the price you see or email the owner and make an offer.

Hmmmm. It didn't look like anyone owned it. Aw well.

It may be that the original owner dropped the domains but forget to notify GoDaddy Premium Domains of that fact. Those "valuations" are the selling price including GoDaddy's 30% comission. They are also retail pricing. If the original owner didn't see any value in them, then they probably are not worth re-registering, unless you're a gambler. Depends on the domains, of course.
