It will be for sure a huge year.
I bet will see at least 2 XXX.XXX sale next year.

I predict same development as 2010 or less, web technology is still not so strong to support .tv content.

I think in the begining of March there would be avaliable some nice domains in a xxx range.

During the year we would see another big .tv auction I think at Sedo (reserved names).

I would have at least 2 xx,xxx sales :)

There would be no big changes on the market I guess.

I predict that I will be looking back with regret that I sold all my domains as you guys ride the gravy train. :)

@Len - I was able to pick up some nice .tv domains from you! thanks buddy

also - i think 2011 should be a good year and hopefully will bring in some high prices for generic names

Two Moon will sell a .TV to a hot sexy Victoria's Secret Model. He will have sex with her but he won't quit Smoking.

There will be fewer JimboJimbo auctions as he spends time focusing on his plans.

Rise in sales of mid XXX and X,XXX. Lots of drops in March. Same players picking them up and another year of pretty much the same with fewer quality names being available (post March).

Maybe some more NDA's that everyone but me hears about. A couple of high XX,XXX here and there....

Renewal fees will stay at $25+ putting pressure on those with large portfolios and small turnover and without cash to burn.

But greater recognition - more awareness and a slightly swelling of prices towards the end of the year but 2012 will be better. I don't ever foresee the huge growth that some wish for.. especially on the non top 1% keywords....but better than average bank rates.

I will also stop posting on NP sometime in the year...luckily for all of you.

Things have improved hugely in terms of the premium names now having some genuine capital value but the development issues haven't gone away. There is still no obvious, clear business model for the vast majority of .tv names, especially when it is domainers trying to do the development.

Personally I think we'll see a realisation that prices have come down from March and that the obvious winner from the policy change was Verisign rather than domainers. Expect a lot more drops and people talking about how they used to own 200 .tv's and now own 10.

Usually the peak level of interest (such as major auctions) represents a high point for prices on relaunched tlds and I think this case won't be an exception. With everyone expecting quick capital gains it should have been expected as that is the point of maximum optimism.

Also think most of the auction names (like business.tv - the poster boys of .tv) will continue to languish or be put up for sale with a several selling at substantial losses. Personally I don't think we'll say any verified sales in 6 figures, (but plenty of rumours of such sales of course). Then again I didn't think we'd see one last year so who really knows. Hard to guess on a single sale level.

There are a number of large Video Platforms currently under development at Google, Verizon and other MAJOR corporations. Whether people see it or not - APP Development for the TV is a real thing and will EXPLODE late 2011-2012 so the business model will definitely go from:

"Huh?" to .... "Oh, it was so obvious"

I'll be investigating the Verizon APIs myself. The opportunities for APP development in the TV space are HUGE... maybe I will create a .TV Toolkit... I have the domain... I have the dream.. just short the time.

People talk about convergence of TV and Internet.... what people don't understand is that it's a convergence of INFORMATION TV-Phone-Internet... the unifying factor is it will all be Video, and it will all, for a while be called ... the two letter ccTLD of Tuvalu.

See you there.

One more thing...

I won't keep seeing .CO sales > .TV sales as that's just annoying :)

i predict snoop will join the board at verisign and lobby hard for $5 .tvs and to wipe out all existing premiums that remain

other than that , not much , maybe more .tv's being developed

Through the first eight to nine months of 2010 I only made one sale to someone known on this board and don't recall any other .TV inquiries. The last several months I have seen a pickup of reported .TV sales and a few inquiries as well. Then in November I made two solid .TV sales and in December received my first Spanish .TV inquiry from a developer. So I see interest picking up. I recall for .COM & .Net the first 8-9 months of 2009 were slow and then picked up nicely in the fall. In 2010 .COM/.Net sales mushroomed so hopefully that will happen with .TV in 2011. Several of my .TV sites are ranking better so I anticipate I will sell ad space on a few South Florida geo .TVs by the end of 2011.

Wouldn't surprise me if they drastically cut the reg fee at some point, maybe after the next big bust, it is about the last form of "stimulus" they have got left now after the relaunch with new pricing in 2006 then the model change in 2010.

that will suit the .tv domainers , remember some are seeking development so it can only help to keep costs down

Interesting comment about the possibility of lowering annual renewals - I once suggested a .TV domain to someone on Twitter who was having difficulty finding a suitable domain. Their response was that the renewals were too expensive. Perhaps in emerging/developing markets even a $25 annual renewal can affect adoption rates of a TLD.

Julian Assange will be locked away in an American Federal prison and start working on his memoir titled "My Cellmate's a Bear" with a 25-cent pen he buys in the commissary.
