to me what's important is frontpage of google , most other things not quite as important, although i know many people live for pr , there are many no 1 websites without high pr i have noticed

I disagree. A valid PageRank definitely affects your SERPs.

All I know is, every PR2 or PR3 domain that I have sold on ebay, they have all gone for good prices (relative to reg fee)... They always sell, the PR3s usually go for $25-$40...

SERP is obviously a meaningful metric... and PR is loosely related to it, but not nearly as relevant as the SERP itself.

Having a high PR does not necessarily "affect" your SERP in any way.

Every metric has some importance and it depends on one's objective. So there's a whole market for pr domains too.

Besides the PR update, I'm more worried about Caffeine update.
