Pop-up/Spy ware Stoppers

There are free downloads for pop-up/spy ware stoppers out there. For those of you who use them, which do you feel is the best to download and use?

I'm really considering getting ad-aware again but before when I downloaded it, something happened to my computer, I thought that this program could have been the problem so I deleted it, but it wasn't. It turned out that one of those programs such as Gain/Gator had installed itself to my computer and I had to delete my registry, so I'm just wondering if any of you use them and if you do which ones you would suggest?

Meaya Popup Ad Filter. This is the only pop up killer i've ever been happy with. But now i'm using avant browser, so i no longer need it. However, this doesn't get rid of spyware or adware, just gets rid of the popups.
