Anybody else seen this yet?

You can sell your names there, but you have to transfer them to NameScout.com.

So far, I just see a few names for sale.

I think we will finally know if these bids at pool are real. I thought bloghosting.com went for over $20k? Has a start bid of $500? hmz..

Just saw this myself. At namescout prices, I'd pretty well want to sell the name before renewal. The listing fees and namescout transfer requirement see a little steep to me. I guess we'll see how successful they are. They do seem to get the attention of some good buyers though.

I guess Pool is looking at alternate income sources for if and when the WLS becomes active.

Well BlogHosting.com had some bogus bids and was never really sold. This is Pool's way of getting rid of it.

Me and my coleague just bought 1 domain at the Pool Marketplace. Pretty nice for only 60$. I was surprised seeing that noone took it before me...

The marketplace count stood at 15-16 listings all weekend. Today I logged in and see 800+ names, mostly listed as reverse auctions (like bazaar) starting at $60. I'm wondering if these are either pool or namepro unclaimed/unpaid drop catches. Most are pretty unimpressing domains, at least to me.

I'm going to try out a couple mid-range domain sales there. We'll see how it goes.

I just got message from my friend telling me that ALL domains he bought on Pool marketplace are managed through Namescout... (?)

hmm. i don't see that pool's selling anything really worthwhile....plus the prices listed aren't remotely reasonable.

also... do they double dip in terms of charges? what's the cut they take? they wouldn't tell me....

They get the listing fee, plus I think 10% of the sales price. It's in the FAQ, but not on the front page of the marketplace.

Have tried listing 2 domains on the market place and had problems with both, in fact neither are yet listed ( been over a week for the first one ) ... which is a bit annoying as there were only about 17 domains listed when I first applied, now they will get buried.

I listed 4 under different conditions to see what works. The first was already with Namescout since I picked it up on pool in the first place. It's RocknRoll.info. It's listed at $800 since I had offers i the $500 range the week I obtained it. One other has passed transfer but is not yet listed, another is in the process of transfer. The 4th still says waiting for transfer intiation. It does appear they don't get listed until the domain is at namescout and resolving to their DNS.

I agree the process is pretty slow.

I am still waiting for the e-mail to authorize transfer to Namescout

I was told that it is going to take longer as they will have to process it manually but am starting to get a bit fed up.
