Pointers?

Thanks for viewing my question. I'm new to web design and have only done small projects in college, but really love designing web pages and want to start my own business doing so. I was talking to a potential client and he was saying that he was interested in using pointers for his web site. I was curious because I had never hear of a pointer being used as far as web design goes. He said that he wanted to use 2 domain names with one web site and both domain names would direct the viewer to the same web site typing in either domain name. Can anyone give me some help as far as explaining pointers in reference to web design and how can 2 different domain names be typed in and go to the exact same site. Input from anyone with something to add is WELCOMED!

You can use domain forwarding to the same URL or configure both name servers to point to the same site.
