I purchased this site not too long ago. I have done a small amount of work only and I need some ideas for improvement.

Please don't be afraid to tell me what you think about this site.

Some ideas I have to improve the site are listed below...

#- Gallery - It is a graphics site..

#- Forums - I need to get rid of the unrelated forums

#- Style Change = I think it is too dark. It needs something brighter..

That is about all I came up with so far. What do you think? What should I do to get this going???

Thanks :)

The Bad
  • Site is too dark.
  • No favicon.
  • Need a logo/banner.
  • Less ads.
  • Better color scheme.
  • Custom skin.
  • Seems like it takes forever to scroll down (bright blue boxes too big).

The Good
  • Loads fast.
  • Fairly easy name to remember.
  • Quite a bit of categories.

Hey Richieboy67 - someone signed up to your forum... :notme:

Kickass:

  • I know what I'm browsing. Your category headings (navigation, buttons) are big and blue. This makes it very easy for me to figure out what I'm browsing.
  • Text is easy to read. You have picked out good colors and font sizes for the thread posts - though, for the default thread bits, make it white instead of grey. You will see the diffrence.
  • Dark? Hell yeah. You mentioned you would make the forum theme lighter, well - why? What's wrong with having a dark theme? Quite frankly, I enjoyed the deep vibe your forum gives off. :)

Needs Some Loving:

  • Register link, where are you. So, I was all like "let's reg this up" - little did I know your register button would be hidden in the top right corner. Put it with the navigation menu.
  • Below Your Forum. Below your forum you have like a button, two links and advertisements. It's like world war 3 down there! Do some aligning, maybe remove a couple things - setup a partners page. :)
  • Black on Blue, nay. You have a black navigation displaying "forum, topic posts" etc. on a blue background. I would reccomend trying a diffrent color, black on blue isn't the best color selections.
  • What? Where's my PM at? On your navigation panel that says "FAQ" and "Check PMs" you have light blue text on a blue background. Make it white, so that you can find your PM box. ;)

What's the COOL FACTOR? 6.5/10

Overall - fix the loving, be proud that you kick ass, good luck to you. :)

Keep Rocking,

CWN

+Clear to read
+Good font and link mixture IMO

-I don't think the header (light blue) mixes in with your dark blue appearance. Or maybe it's just me
-You can maybe make the font a little bigger. Though it's clear to read it's a bit hard on the eyes after a while because of the contrast. Maybe changing the maintext to #cccccc wouldn't be so bad.

Overall:
It's a good forum, good layout, though the footer's kind of messed in a way :)

Thanks all... I will thoroughly go over your posts and see what I can do. Currently I own about 15 sites and work on many others. Finding time for just one that isn't doing well is tough... I bought this domain because I thought it had potential... I still think it does but I have been wrong in the past...... lol

Thanks again... I appreciate the help..

Forum review

Hi. First of all, the forum has a basic phpBB skin. You might want to change it or improve it. Second, the forum and categories structure is really good. Third, you need to advertise the site and get more members.

Good luck with your site!

Overall Rating: 8,5/10

Regards. :)

Oh Well,

This post is no longer valid because I merged GFXWired.com with TalkandMore.net..

Thank for the tips etc.. I just didn't have time to work on that so I figured a merge would be the way to go...

So www.gfxwired.com is now part of www.talkandmore.net
