Please look at this Whois info and explain it to me.

The name in question is Ropaje.org which I believe is one of the handfull of words that means Clothes in spanish.

I can't pull it up in my browser and don't remember renewing it, pretty sure I didn't but when looking at the whois it's a little confusing. It says updated on June 18, 07 but on hold pending delete. I'm Dave Crutcher/Twilight Resrarch

Do I have a chance to save this name or is it already mine.

It means the domain is in redemption and can still be renewed.
Depending on the registrar it will cost you $80 to $200.
The domain is already past the registrar grace period (usually a few days after expiry) therefore it is now more costly.
You could also place a backorder and wait but if the domain has some value you risk competition.

It's not worth more than $reg to me so I'll let it go. That's why I didn't renew in the first place but after I saw my name still on it I second guessed my self and was a little unclear on the status

Hold your horses there, folks! I'm seeing you guys giving it an incorrect analysis. Contact your registrar by phone immediately and ask him why the heck it says "pending delete."

Why do I say that? Because assuming you didn't recently tell your registrar you wanted to dump it, it is still perfectly VALID until May 7, 2008!

The other date (the June 18, 2007 one) you people are misreading is merely a Whois update time, often triggered when someone looks up a Whois. It only means it was looked up by someone (maybe you?) on June 18, 2007.

So go back and read it again: It clearly says it was created in 2006 and does NOT expire until 2008.

This means you either regged it in May 2006 for 2 years, or you did it for 1 year at first, and then signed up for another year in May of this year (but forget you had done so).

(BTW, June 18 of this year wouldn't automatically put it out of grace period anyway, since they can go anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the registrar.)

That's what is confusing, the expire date. So is the name still mine?

I also don't understand why the name when typed in a browser says it can't display the page. It should have some kind of ipower.com (tucows) landing page. We switched around 300 names from ipower to godaddy because of major problems managing the names at ipower and have been very happy with Godaddy.

Yes, it says the dom is technically yours until 2008. I say "technically" because you still have the serious problem of that weird classification (for no apparent reason) of PENDING DELETE.

As to what to do now about it, I already told you:

You must immediately pick up the phone and call your registrar (in this case Tucows Inc.) to find out what's up with this.

Although higher-priced than other registrars, Tucows has a decent rep of not being jerks, so I doubt they're trying to pull anything. But find out what's going on and find out NOW. Call them before the close of this business day.

Do not post back here again, asking what to do, if you still haven't even called them yet! Geez!

Actually it's more complicated than that.
The expiration date you see is probably misleading.
When a domain expires a registrar will usually renew it provisionally with the registry so there may be a discrepancy between registry expiry date and registrar expiry date. Registrar has up to 45 days to decide renewal or deletion (and recover the renewal fee with registry).

The domain is clearly in redemption but you can still redeem it (for a fee).
Besides a domain can be deleted with immediate effect or sent to redemption before expiration date (if you ask the registrar to delete it, or it could be deleted for legal/compliance reasons).

My registrar is requesting that I renew my domain name, but according to the .ORG registry WHOIS, it has been renewed for one year. What’s going on?
When a domain name reaches its expiration date and is not renewed by the registrar, the .ORG registry system performs an auto-renew on the domain name. The auto-renew extends the expiration date for one year whether or not the registrar has received payment from the registrant.

Coupled with the status line of Pending Delete: Restorable, sdsinc is correct.
The domain name will reach the point of no return by at least July 18.

Debates about what your registrar may or may not have been doing with your domain info aside, why were you sitting on this anyway? You should have paid to renew (or regain) at the first sign of trouble. The worst that could happen by paying more is that too much money might hit your account and you'd have it regged for a year longer than you expected.

That happened to me last year - I saw something I thought looked funny with one of my doms, so I threw some more money at it to make sure it was paid up until this year. When I went back to check on it later, I found that I'd paid it up until late 2008! Oh, well - better safe than sorry.
