Hi,

I've never bought anything from SnapNames but now see a name I was hoping it'll drop and become available now have the status "In Auction".

What does it mean?

Does it mean someone else has already placed a bid on it?

Thank you.

It means more than one person want that name.
You need to bid if you want it.

it means that domain is in public auction. It happens when no one back order the domain before it dropped, snapnames send it to public auction.
Usually if the domain is not premium, the starting price is $9, so if the price still $9, no one has put any bid on that domain yet....you can either bid the domain or wait until snapnames drop the domain in 4 days (after they register it)

$19, usually means, there is someone already bid on that domain, if you want that domain, you have to enter the auction and bid.
That domain will not drop anymore from snapnames.

Aww shucks. Reps added. I'd really appreciate it guys.

What will the status be if no one bid on it?

PS: Seems like I was the only bidder...the bidding history's only got my name. :(

There is no way to know the status. And sorry to hear you're the only bidder (that domain could be drop again in 4 days if u didn't bid). In my experience, snapnames public auction usually start as low as $9, if price > $9, and you really want the domain, bid it, because there is a chance an auction is in progress.

Yes I knew that. Never mind. $19 is still okay. I have the singular and the .net is taken by somebody else.

No, SnapNames public auctions do not "usually" start at $9. The starting price depends on (the quality of) the name, at SnapNames' sole discretion.

That's because the starting price was set at $19.

I'd wish you posted earlier broke-r. Got the name already.

Must be a very poor quality name in their eyes. :(
