Im just starting into the domain investment business and would like your opinions on some of the names in my portfolio. Please respond with appraisals to the several domain names which you perceive to have the most re-sale value. Thanks for your help!

All domains have been listed on Sedo for about a week, but have currently not garnered much attention (either unrealistic pricing on my part, or lost in the sheer volume of Sedo domains). Your opinions are much appreciated.

I've had domains listed on Sedo for months that haven't garnered much attention ;) Sedo is tough, particularly for new buyers including myself.

Regarding your domains, I think AcePokerFace.com is decent, maybe some developers would pay more than registration fee for it. Green4theGlobe.com would actually be better in .org, but it's also decent. Most "save the planet" type domains are developed with the .org extension. It's possibly worth more than registration fee if a developer finds the domain name attractive.

I don't think any of the other domains you listed are worth more than registration fee. In fact, most of them are probably only worth a few NP$, perhaps 1$ or $2 USD for resale. Better luck with future registrations, and welcome to namepros.

Agree with the above. Slow down with registering long names. Usually the longer the name the less its worth. Unless you land freecreditreport.com or something. But even that took money to brand. Your poker names are okay. If you registered anything in the last 5 days you can usually get a refund if you act quickly and cancel them.

Stick with short brandable names -or- 2 word names that are short when combined. 3 word names hardly ever get type in traffic.

Good luck in the domain world. See what other people are buying on DNjournal.com or here on NP before you buy up 100+ names that are worth nothing. I know from experience...... :'(

Yea my domains are pretty much 2 word names with the exception of Green4theGlobe and AcePokerFace. That is of course excluding the .info domains, which were all .99cents at GoDaddy, so i figured i could be more liberal with my spending since the possible gain outweighs a few dollars loss.

Also, what are your opinions on .ws and .asia names, given that they are either very short and/or generic terms?

Don't waste your time on those 2 extensions imo.

That's what i figured. I came across a couple that i thought were too good to pass up (including a good 4 letter word .ws), but havn't come to a decision yet. One 4 letter word .ws name recently sold on sedo for $10,000. What does it take to make a sale like that? Is there any use spending the extra cash to buy a premium listing, category listing, or professional appraisal?

I know that this 4 letter .ws that domain that i found would obviously not sell for $10,000. However, free appraisals have valued the domain anywhere from 1,000 to 6,000. So what im getting at is, do you think theres a chance of getting at least a couple offers for a good .ws domain at public auction?

Thanks for all your input so far.
