Article close to two years old and the domain for sale now, no development. So the wheel fell off the cart somewhere down that road

" While the nameservers will be changed when the new site launches, the domain will not change hands until WebsiteProperties receives the $1.5 million from the start-up’s Series A funding (and the sale won’t be eligible for our charts until the transfer is completed)."

Nice domain property. Good luck finding deep pocket companies.

Profile.com lots of uses. Names that are lots of uses should get % equity of the business.

Just be careful posting links like this in an appraisal thread, the OP might not want potential buyers to see any info that could influence a sale...

Why be careful? The info i posted was made publicly and was one of the first things that comes up when you research into the name.

I'm sure any potential buyers of this domain will Google the name and find the same thing.

Thats fine, but its common knowledge not to post them in someone else's appraisal thread, rather let potential buyers have to go and find this info themselves

Links like that only only pop up on the first few pages of Google if you search "profile.com domain name" or "profile.com domain dnjournal" etc and get specific...a lot of buyers dont google anything when buying a name, especially if they have deep pockets

Anyway, up to you

I don’t see how the link I posted can have an negative impact though :guilty: if a potential buyer finds this thread, wouldn’t appraisals of low 6 figures be more negative than the link I posted?

I wish someone posted a link to one of my domains saying it’s worth potentially 7 seven and percentage of a company, post it everywhere if they like, make leaflets out of it and shout it on a megaphone.

But yeah if it bothers the owner, I can’t edit the post myself but report the post to admin and they’ve got my permission to have it deleted

I doubt it bothers the op, most probably just bothers the people that want to talk down the value. The article was relevant and a good piece of information.

Remember the name didn't sell. Instead a pie in the sky start up agrees to any number and terms just to get a commitment on paper. With the attitude I'll raise the capital with my great idea.

Not a reliable number at all.

No problem, you just never know how it will affect a sale, and I certainly wouldn't want threads like that on my appraisal thread, of course it can/could/might affect how a buyer looks at a name and it can influence his thoughts/decision/budget etc

It might not bother the OP at all, but if you check in past threads, OP's have often asked to remove links in appraisal threads for this exact reason. I just think because we dont know how the OP feels about it, we dont just post them and assume they dont mind, thats all Im saying....

I have found links that might help a domainer sell a name in the past and I have just sent a PM, its safer that way IMO

What a fantastic name though :D

First off incredible name. You have a low six figures offer from myself. Haha.

But on the hindsight I would say the name is in the mid six figures and to the right enduser potentially a seven figure name.

perfect

@Sky2

I strongly feel this domain is a Jackpot .. dont settle for less .. if you dont get a good deal wait for some time ... but dont go with the people that downgrades the value of this domain to a low value

I would said it would be worth waiting for the right call
