It is pretty much the first .net i have purchased
its not the most worthless domain name i have ever seen, but to be honest, still a reg fee name.
but the reason i went for it was because the .org and .com were purchased so i taught it may have value.
this is a big mistake.
billions of crappy names are registered by many "awkward" people. always use your own judgement. always ask yourself: who would buy such a name and what for?
other registered extensions CAN be a hint, but not necessarily. its also useful to see if there are good looking developed websites behind the names or any bids on sedo for other extensions.
fruthermore some dictionary names might have some value with .com extension, but normally not with other extensions, unless commercially usable.
It has 3,600 exact key searches in google adwords. Could somebody help me understand if these are correct reason to buy a .net domain name and any ideas if it is potentially worth anything ?
exact searches can be a reason. but mostly together with HIGH competition. this term has ZERO competition. no one is paying anything for ads for this word. the reason is obvious: no commercial use.
the only related term with some commercial use is "awkward gifts"
that said, the only possible use which comes to my mind is to make a website with awkward photos or something like that. or as you mentioned , a self help site or something. but i personally wouldn't invest time in this name.
conclusion: a reg fee name, park it and see if anyone buys it, but deactive autorenew and let it drop
